For undergraduate students
Black Alumni Society Undergraduate Scholarship
In July 1985, the Black Alumni Society established scholarships for
undergraduate students based on financial need and academic
performance. Two or three yearly scholarships have been awarded to
undergraduate students since 1986-87 school-year.
- Deadline: December 1, 2011
for 2010-2011 school year
- Requirements:
- Must be an active member of NC State's
African
American community through programs, activities and/or participation in
student organizations
- 2.7 GPA or above
- Full time students only
- Exhibit financial need
- Application items:
- Completed application
- Copy of official transcript
- One letter of recommendation from a NC State faculty or staff
member
- Financial aid needs analysis (see last page of the
application)
- How to apply: Complete
application and deliver all application items to the Multicultural Student

A.M. Witherspoon Graduate Scholarship
In July 1990, the A.M. Witherspoon Graduate Scholarship was established
by black alumni graduate students. BAS awards scholarships to graduate
students each year.
